A few weeks ago, something incredible happened. At Enlight Vocational Institute in Matugga—a town just outside the hustle and bustle of Kampala—Quality Management Services Ltd (QMS) had the honor of conducting a Start Your Business training program with a unique group of participants: football coaches. Yes, coaches! Both men and women, passionate about football and equally passionate about shaping the future of Uganda—on and off the pitch.
Over an intense three-day training, our dedicated QMS directors guided the coaches through critical topics such as:
- Modern marketing techniques that help businesses stand out in a crowded market.
- How to cost their services and products effectively.
- Adapting to today’s rapidly changing economic environment.
- And most importantly—how to thrive as resilient entrepreneurs.
But here’s what truly moved us…
These coaches aren’t just teaching kids how to pass a ball or score a goal. They’re building safe spaces, leadership skills, and dreams for our youth—especially during school holidays when distractions are plenty and positive influence is crucial. Through their football academies, they are mentors, role models, and now—entrepreneurs in the making.
Their discipline, focus, and commitment—qualities that make them great coaches—are also the very traits that will propel their entrepreneurial journeys. They came ready to learn, asked the right questions, and embraced new ways of thinking with open minds and hopeful hearts. Their resilience in the face of economic, social, and technological shifts is a story worth celebrating.

To every coach who stepped into that classroom, thank you. You’ve reminded us that learning has no gender, no age limit, and no boundaries. You’ve proven that growth can happen anywhere—even beyond the football field.
